The Clayton County Department of Economic Development serves as staff for the Board of Commissioners, the Development Authority, the Redevelopment Authority and the Urban Redevelopment Agency. We are charged with attracting and maintaining jobs and investment in the community. In order to do this, we collaborate with organizations and municipalities to leverage assets and resources.

The National Council on Urban Economic Development defines economic development as a process that influences the growth and restructuring of an economy to enhance the well-being of a community. The following four areas are part of that process in Clayton County:
